With the UK, South West and Cornwall playing a pivotal role in #G7, #COP26 and the recent announcement of the Adaption Action Coalition, providing sustainable development is more important than ever before. Now with our Sustainability Director, Maxine Goodey, back from maternity leave our team is perfectly placed to offer our clients the best and most effective development strategies – ensuring sustainability is at the forefront of each and every project whilst still protecting cost.

As an experienced sustainability consultant, Maxine brings with her an enormous amount of expertise across a broad range of sustainability and environmental services. She started her career as a river catchment officer and spent time managing and improving river systems. She then moved to a large multi-disciplinary consultancy and later to a smaller consultancy where she spent time learning the ropes and honing her skills across a variety of different services from ecological assessment to energy assessments and virtually everything in between. She found her niche within sustainability assessment and reporting services as it is where she felt she could have the biggest impact on both business and buildings alike. She continually works as a key influencer using her knowledge, skillset, hard work and unique approach to continually achieve positive outcomes for our clients. She has been instrumental in the successful delivery of high profile and award-winning developments including the National College for High-Speed Rail, The New London US Embassy and more recently providing Net Zero Carbon consultancy services across the UK.

We are proud to have her on board and super excited about the opportunities we have received to date including the Somerset Digital Innovation Centre and Devon and Cornwall Police Sports Hall. We have provided a mix of our services on these projects including BREEAM, carbon impact assessments, whole building life cycle assessments, developing bespoke sustainability frameworks and of course, working closely with our team of in-house Quantity Surveys and Project Managers to ensure the most effective outcome are achieved for our clients.

In the words of Maxine, “it is more important than ever for our focus to shift and to start making real changes to help combat climate change in the UK and beyond.  I am proud to be playing a key role in helping Coreus realise it’s mission to help our clients embrace sustainable principles in a way that doesn’t have to cost the earth.”

In addition to advising our clients, the Coreus Sustainability team will play a key role in driving forward our own sustainability initiatives including progressing our vision to make #plasticfreehomes™ a reality and developing our road map to becoming Net-Zero by 2050.

Andrew Clancy, Managing Director commented “I firmly believe that as consultants it is our duty to drive a sustainable agenda on developments. This should not be a tick box exercise, nor one to fulfil a corporate agenda – we are all responsible for the wellbeing of our planet. We are now aligning our project and cost management services to that which our sustainability team offer, to ensure we add value to our clients by providing this service as standard and at no additional cost. This will help us provide bespoke services whereby sustainable solutions are second nature”
