“It will be exciting to breathe new life into the existing building once it undergoes refurbishment. Once complete, it will provide new clinical skills suites for future generations of healthcare professionals, something Coreus are extremely passionate about. The project will also bolster Swansea University’s place as one of the top in the UK for Nursing and Complementary Medicine for years to come.”

About the Project

Coreus were appointed by Swansea University to provide full cost management services for the refurbishment of their Haldane building to create a new Clinical Skills and Simulation Centre on behalf of the Medical, Health & Life Sciences College.

The project involved redesigning the existing facility to meet the changing vision of how clinical education and immersive simulation-based learning (SBL) programmes are operationalised. This required a multi-site realignment to the vision of increasing simulation-based learning innovations and methodologies to meet the needs of over 3000 students within the Medical, Health & Life Sciences programmes.

As part of the professional team, Coreus worked to develop full designs for the proposed refurbishment works up to RIBA Stage 4, transferring the vision of key stakeholders and the University into the built form.

The team also led the tender process through to the appointment of the Principal Contractor.
