Happy Ada Lovelace Day!

.

Every year, this day celebrates the achievements of women in STEM. At Coreus, we are very proud of all the brilliant women in our team.

.
Today the Coreus ladies have taken a moment to recognise a woman that has inspired them:

• Helen da Costa, Director of Enabling Services “Today I am championing Dorothy Hogkins, a Nobel Prize-winning British chemist whose work with insulin led it to be produced on mass, saving and improving the lives of people with diabetes, including my Dad!

.
Olivia Moorey, Project Manager “I am inspired by Marie Curie for her pioneering work on radioactivity and contribution to cancer treatments. She was the first woman to win a Noble Prize, which makes me want to strive to achieve all I can in construction!”

.
Isobel Scantlebury, Marketing AssistantKatherine Johnson was an American mathematician who calculated and analysed many spacecrafts and flight paths at Nasa. This makes me proud to be woman working in STEM!”

.
Maxine Goodey, Director of SustainabilityJane Goodall is a ground-breaking conservationist. Her work has inspired me to help protect our environment!”

.
Megan Thornton, Assistant Marketing Manager “ I have chosen Valentina Tereshkova, the first and youngest woman to have flown in space with a solo mission. Her bravery is inspiring!”

.
Gracie Schooling, Project AssistantZaha Hadid is an Iraqi-British architect, she is the first woman to ever win the Pritzker Architecture prize, which is the gold standard for the profession. She shows that there doesn’t have to be a distinction between science and creativity, and she inspired me to do my degree in architecture!”
