Today is International Women’s Day and today, as always, Coreus are championing the brilliant, inspirational women in our company by joining the global campaign #ChoosetoChallenge.
.
We continue to shake up the Construction Industry by embracing the change needed to make careers in construction more accessible to women. We know to achieve this it’s important to continue to hire and promote based on skills and experience, whilst also ensuring we offer the same mentoring opportunities and flexibility to all staff. This combined with our open and honest culture has created an environment where there is no glass ceiling for anyone, regardless of age or gender. The result being that women at Coreus represent 28% of our workforce, well above the industry average of just 12%.

Olivia Moorey, Project Manager said ‘I feel incredibly proud to be a female Project Manager working in the construction industry and think it is so important that we change the misconceptions about gender-specific roles. Gender equality has come a long way in the UK and the number of women working in the construction industry is gradually increasing. However, woman are still hugely underrepresented in the industry, so it is fundamental that we do everything we can to change this.”

Maxine Goodey, Director of Sustainability said “I am so blessed to have such an exciting role within the Coreus team, who believe that having effective female leadership is vitally important to ignite change and help create a sense of comfort for other women who are considering joining the industry. It is well known that there is a shortage of skills and we are yet to fully tap into what women could bring to the workspace both on and offsite. I am excited to help Coreus lead the way in helping demonstrate that the construction industry can be for anyone, regardless of gender.”
