We are passionate about and recognise the importance of both developing and nurturing future talent, which is vitally important to us as a business. The roll out of our apprenticeship and mentoring programmes in 2020 played a huge role in us realising our ambitions, but we can go further on this front. Our passion for education extends to the projects we are involved in and we are proud to be part of a range of Educational projects across the country.

Have a read of some of our work in the sector:

City Centre Campus, University of Gloucester

We have recently been appointed to the new multi-million pound refurbishment of the old Debenhams building in the centre of Gloucester as the preferred Cost Consultants. The University of Gloucestershire announced in March that it had bought the Debenhams building – a major focal point for the community for 80 years – and intends to redevelop the existing fabric of the building to create a vibrant new environment.

Once completed, the new campus will be a modern centre for teaching, learning and community partnerships; playing a vital role in both the regeneration of the city centre and supporting the University’s ambitious plans for growth.

Bridgwater and Taunton College, T Levels Building

Acting as Cost Consultants and Project Managers, the Coreus team provided new conferencing facilities, teaching spaces and a student café for the T Level students. This challenging project was one of the first we had the pleasure to be involved in after our launch in 2019. This involved the refurbishment of 4 buildings across the Taunton campus to create an industry leading Construction and Digital skills teaching space.

T Levels are a technical based alternative to A Levels, offering students the chance to gain skills in careers such as construction, engineering, education, childcare and more.

Petroc College, Centre of Innovation and Technology Building

Coreus were appointed as Cost Consultants for Petroc College on their Centre of Innovation and Technology. The centre was built to inspire collaboration and creativity, containing an expertly equipped development zone with 3D manufacturing technology. Teaching and learning spaces were created for students along with an innovation space for members of the public along and clean rooms for experiments. A relaxed, professional conferencing area, open-plan hot desks areas and modern design pods were also part of the scheme.

A fantastic facility for students to utilise!

Petroc College Barnstaple, E Block Building

Coreus were appointed as both Project and Cost Manager to reclad the external façade of the E Block building at Petroc in Barnstaple. To achieve the intensive programme while maintaining business as usual for the college, we worked closely with the contractor to structure and plan the works during the peak of the pandemic to DfE funding timescales.

The project was handed over on budget and ahead of the agreed completion date. It was a pleasure to work with a client like Petroc that has the ambition to improve their existing assets to make a difference to their student’s experience!

University of Plymouth, Scott Car Park

Coreus provided Project Management and Cost Consultancy services for the Scott Car Park Recycling facility, from the development of the RIBA 4 design of the Scott Car Park waste management facility to completion and handover on site.

This involved the creation of a new maintenance building, installation of compactor bases, relocation of historic prefab units, installation of fencing and new campus screening. This also involved the management and coordination of 2 design teams under a combined planning application.
